Set within a beautifully restored two-storey Victorian building, The Chalk celebrates the spirit of traditional British dining, brought to life with the flair and expertise that Chef Tom De Keyser brings to the table.
With 12 years of experience working alongside Tom Kerridge, Tom De Keyser brings an impressive culinary pedigree to The Chalk. He was most recently Head Chef at our sister pub The Hand & Flowers in Marlow - the first pub in the world to earn two Michelin stars - and previously led the kitchen at The Coach, another Michelin-starred Kerridge establishment.
The name Chalk pays tribute to the area's rich heritage. Derived from the Anglo-Saxon Caelichyth, meaning 'chalk wharf' - the landing site for chalk and limestone - Chelsea was once a hub for unloading chalk and limestone along the Thames. Our pub honours this maritime past while embracing the energy and elegance of modern-day Chelsea.
“We look forward to welcoming you to The Chalk Freehouse, where classic British hospitality meets culinary excellence.”
